From the way Manon Pelhate works with light emerged a kind of resonance with our own practice — instantly inspired by her gaze. To adorn furniture or decorative panels using straw marquetry is, in a sense, to sculpt light itself — and that is nothing short of fascinating.
Straw marquetry is a craft that demands exceptional mastery. The material must be handled with great delicacy, yet once applied to its surface, it becomes remarkably durable — ready, quite literally, to cross oceans.
Atelier OnIt has been entrusted with creating high-end pieces for luxury hotels such as Le Georges V in Paris and Le Miramar, as well as projects abroad — from Switzerland to New York.
When Manon reached out to us, her wish was to reaffirm her image — for herself, and for the diverse audiences drawn to her atelier’s creations.
It became a story of trust, woven by six hands over three months of collaboration: audits, interviews, communication strategy, and the creation of a moodboard to capture the atelier’s vision and guide the upcoming creative work.
